Hey, I’m Joley.

I’m a 22-year-old writer, researcher, and traveler, born and raised in San Francisco but currently based in Aarhus, Denmark.

I recently graduated with a degree in History and Literature from Minerva, voted the #1 most innovative university in the world. Through this program and beyond, I’ve lived in the United States, France, South Korea, Germany, Ireland, Argentina, India, Taiwan, and the UK. You’ll see a lot of these places pop up in my fiction and non-fiction!

I'm a strong believer in ‘writing as agency’, and I've worked with several organizations to help make the humanities more accessible to under-resourced students. Currently, I’m working full-time at a Danish non-profit that helps predominantly immigrant women receive housing, legal help, and holistic support as they escape domestic violence.

In the past, I’ve worked at an EdTech startup and as a history research teacher, poetry instructor, writing contest judge, social media strategist, and barista. I'm also passionate about adult language-learning and creative writing—I’m in the final stages of writing a full-length historical novel.

Stay tuned to see where my passions will take me next!
